Emerging Designer: Amyra My name is Ramya Govardhanam and I am a fashion designer from Houston, Texas, USA. Although I have a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M, my love for fashion and design ultimately led me to pursue a career as a fashion designer. I have been active in the Houston fashion scene for the past couple of years and have shown my collections in various fashion shows every season since 2016. I would describe my design aesthetic as feminine chic evening wear. I love using bright colors, rich fabrics and creating my own unique textiles. I am inspired by my Indian roots and I incorporate elements of my culture into my designs. I am also a proud mother to two amazing boys and love spending time with my family. I believe that if you have dreams , you should do everything in your strength to realize them.
